Every year as ACPACI celebrates its foundation anniversary, special memories are rekindled and reminisced by the past presidents and members. For this year, the celebration is unique as ACPACI launches a new and vibrant ACPACI logo. Making the event even more meaningful is the 2009 Board presentation of a powerpoint video full of music that narrates the colorful years of ACPACI.
The half-day event started with a welcome remarks from Mr. Boy Tecson, 1994 Past President Just like the 1st GMM, there were past presidents in attendance: Winnie Madarang (1986), Violy Josef (1987), Edwin Medalla (1993), Boy Tecson (1994), Winnie Cuico (1995), Fe Abasolo (1996), Baby Sison (2000), Aida Apostol (2003), Marie de Lemos (2004), Liza Glodoviza (2006) and Nora Aquino (2008). During the President’s time, Ms. Cora Rey reported on the First Quarter Board Report.
The 2009 Board feted the past presidents and ACPACI members with the presentation of “36 Years of Continuing Passion and Service”. The nostalgia as they glimpse on the past is alive among the audience.
Another milestone is the unveiling of the new ACPACI logo by Ms. Winnie Madarang. Capping the 36th anniversary celebration is a speech by the Honorable Roilo Golez, Representative 2nd District of Paranaque, as he talked on the Vital National Issues our Country Faces Today.
Seven new members were inducted by Membership Committee, chaired by Annah Suarez. The ACPACI board participating in this GMM were Paz Malubay who rendered the invocation, Lito Manahan ably introduced the Guest Speaker and the luncheon meeting was emceed by Lawrence de Leon.
In the afternoon technical session, Ms. Marivic Españo, Tax Partner from Punongbayan & Araullo, discussed lengthily the topics on Preparation and Reconciliation of Audited Financial Statements and Income Tax Return and other tax related updates on NOLCO, MCIT and RCIT and other topics relevant to the filing of ITR. It was a full packed seminar attended by more than 100 fellow CPAs. The afternoon session was chaired by Ms. Betty Salvador and Edna Constantino.
