Aristeo Cruz, the National President of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI), attended the induction and turnover ceremonies of the 2025 officers of the Tax Management Association of the Philippines (TMAP) held on February 6, 2025, at the Makati Diamond Residences. ACPACI's Past National Presidents Aphat Martinez, Walter Abella, and Wowie Roguel, as well as VP Laine de Guzman, were also present at the event.
TMAP's overall goal is to foster a tax system that is efficient, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of the economy and the people. The organization is focused on promoting fairness, transparency, and voluntary compliance with tax laws while striving to reduce tax evasion. The outgoing President, Jackie Yu, CPA-Lawyer, handed over the presidency to Carina Laforteza, a partner at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan.
The keynote speaker for TMAP's 2025 Induction Ceremony was Hon. Marvic M.V.F. Leonen, Senior Associate Justice at the Supreme Court of the Philippines. BIR Commissioner, Hon. Romeo C. Lumagui, Jr. served as the inducting officer.
The event began with the celebration of the Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Marc Will Lim, SDB. Fr. Marc is a CPA and a member of ACPACI.
