1st General Membership Meeting and Induction of National Officers
The Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI) recently held its 1st general membership meeting and induction of the 2012 new officers, board of directors and committee chairs at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila last January 27, 2012. No less than the President of Max’s Group of Companies and the Philippine Franchise Association Chairman, Mr. Robert F. Trota, inducted the officers and delivered the keynote address centered on this year’s ACPACI theme: “Sustaining Integrity in a Challenging Environment”.
The 2012 national officers are Rebecca R. Arago, President; Consuelo O. Cadelina, EVP; Edna L. Constantino, Secretary; Cynthia A. Campos, Treasurer; Feliciana B. Santos, Auditor. The other directors handling various committees are: Meynard M. Mendoza, Meetings; Aphat C. Martinez, Publications & Website; Jayson Narcisus M. Ayson, Fellowship and Sports; Cecilia C. Carandang, Annual Convention; Gina D. Ciolo, Special Projects; and Celerina M. Valencia, Social Involvement.
Likewise, the Committee Chairpersons inducted by the new President, Ms. Rebecca Arago, are Corazon S. Rey, Annual Convention; Ruzzen C. Alfonso, Scholarship & Election; Divina J. Tua, Fellowships & Sports; Lawrence M. De Leon, Meetings; Rodolfo O. Nablo, Membership Development; Araceli R. Sison, PICPA Coordination & Chapters; Edward L. Roguel, Professional Development; Nanette N. Tabuac, Publications & Website; Lourdes B. Dumigpi, Social Involvment; Samuel F. Villacampa, Special Projects; and Julian M. Tecson, Ways & Means.
A highlight of the event was the valedictory address of Ms. Ma. Paz V. Malubay, outgoing ACPACI President, who gave a comprehensive report of her presidency; her noteworthy accomplishments include: additional 84 new members, giving out 16 seminars concerning issues and updates which were relevant and important to the members and the organization’s continued commitment to social responsibility. She also expressed her thanks to those who have helped her achieve ACPACI’s mission for the past year.
She passed on the gavel of ACPACI leadership to the equally able, Ms. Rebecca Arago, who summarized her mission for 2012 with her five point agenda in her inaugural speech: inculcate the value of integrity among members, continue to work towards solid membership database, professional upliftment, encourage value of social responsibility and the improvement of ACPACI’s internal system.
Other parts of the program were the presentation of Presidential Awards, awarding of Token of Appreciation, video presentation of ACPACI’s activities for 2011 and the induction of new members.
This momentous event was graced by PICPA National President, Ms. Josefina G. Chua and VP for Operations, Mr. Gerard B. Sanvictores and was hosted by the energetic and effortlessly humorous Mr. Bennette Consolacion.
