The 26th Search for Outstanding Accounting Students in the Philippines (SOASP) concluded with resounding success. Conducted annually by P&A Foundation, Inc. in collaboration with PICPA and ACPACI, the search celebrates the incredible skills and commitment of the nation’s future accounting professionals.
The journey began on February 22, 2025, with a nationwide qualifying examination participated in by 455 students from 92 schools, narrowing the field to the top 25 qualifiers.
The highly anticipated Grand Finals took place on March 21, 2025 at the Makati Diamond Hotel. The finalists competed in a challenging accounting quiz, which determined the Top 5. These top contenders then faced the decisive Q&A portion, where they shared their insights on how AI is transforming the accounting profession and influencing business decision-making.
Following an intense and thought-provoking portion, the winners were announced:
- Champion: Marjorie Mae Dy – University of San Carlos
- Second Place: Hannah Katrina De Vera – Kingfisher School of Business and Finance
- Third Place: Vincent Michael Pacaña – Kingfisher School of Business and Finance
- Fourth Place: Raymund Franco Satorre – Bulacan State University
- Fifth Place: Nicole Valerie Tan – University of the Philippines Diliman
Additionally, John Elrich Gamboa from the University of the Philippines Diliman received a special recognition for achieving the Highest Score in the Qualifying Examination.
Representatives from ACPACI, including EVP Marvin Madrigalejo, VP Operations Cecille Carandang, and VP for Partnership Meljorie Atienza-Cruz, were present to show their support during the event.
SOASP continues to serve as a platform for recognizing the extraordinary achievements of the nation’s finest accounting students.
