THREE DECADES speak volumes for an association that is able to stand the test of time. It has weathered storms and maintained a competitive advantage over other professions. Because of its success, ACPACI members decided to give back to the community by way of projects that would not just help generate livelihood but also challenge people’s creativity. 

On July 2, ACPACI held two activities aimed at teaching the participants become start-up entrepreneurs. More than 25 participants attended a jewelry-making and flower arrangement workshop led by 2009 ACPACI President Atty. Betty Salvador, who is into fashion jewelry making as a hobby, at the gymnasium of Barangay Mauway, Mandaluyong City. Salvador eagerly taught the participants the simple steps of fashion jewelry making. The participants are then encouraged to showcase their fashion sense and ability to mix and match colors by creating set of accessories in a short span of time and with only limited selection of materials. An elderly mother said that she had so much fun that she lost track of time.

The flower arrangement seminar followed in the afternoon. A facilitator taught the participants the basics of flower arrangement as well as what types of arrangements are used in different occasions. Then the groups were asked to make several flower arrangements based on the instructions and demos. This is the third series facilitated by ACPACI and its very own secretariat, Fritz Ortiz’ siblings are now into fashion jewelry making as a small business to augment their income. The Committee on Social Involvement led by Ms. Celerina Valencia in collaboration with Philippine Duplicators Inc. made this event possible.
