In the early morning of September 14, 2024, ACPACI headed by its Director/VP for Community Development, Mr. Noel T. Ang, and the Chairman of the Social Involvement Committee, Mr. Almerito Casas, embarked on a 2-hr. travel from Manila, to bring office supplies and food to the elementary school pupils of Inigan Elementary School located in Rodriguez, Rizal.
From Rodriguez, Rizal, one can view the Sierra Madre Mountain range and the watershed of the Wawa Dam. While the town is not far from Manila, it is challenging to bring aid and supplies to the area, as one must trek through rough, steep roads and ride a banca to get to Sitio Inigan. The school has approximately 120 elementary pupils with nine (9) teachers, headed by Ms. Sheilini T. Buenaflor.
ACPACI partnered with Climb Against Cancer (CAC), a non-profit organization whose aim is to increase awareness and research in the continued fight against cancer. CAC provided spaghetti, bread, and cookies for the schoolchildren.
The teachers, parents, and pupils were pleased to receive the school supplies brought. As a gesture of their appreciation for the visiting Group, the parents and teachers prepared dessert which they called “Nilupak”, a Filipino delicacy made from boiled cassava, butter/margarine, and condensed milk. They also harvested fresh fruits and vegetables for the Group to bring home.
ACPACI will continue to advocate corporate social responsibility, to the extent possible, by providing aid to our communities' needy and marginalized sectors.
