Once again, ACPACI headed by its Director for Community Development Mr. Noel T. Ang and Chairperson on Social Involvement Committee, Mr. Almerito Casas, visits Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy for the Sick Children on June 8, 2024 to deliver food, milk, rice, diapers, toiletries and groceries items to around 24 special sick children of the Home. The Home is founded by Mother Theresa of Calcutta whose mission is to serve the poorest of the poor. This is one of the 19 houses around the Philippines.
The Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy for the Sick Children is administered by 14 nuns headed by Superior Lily Marion, MC and around 16 helpers and volunteers whose lives they have dedicated to love and to serve the poor and sick children (i.e., infants, toddlers and teens.)
The place is located at Tayuman, Tondo Manila. It serves 24 children mostly sick with physical and mental disability. Many of them are suffering from cerebral palsy, down syndrome, blindness, and hydrocephalous. These children are abandoned by their parents due to financial difficulties. Taking pictures with the children and the sisters is strictly prohibited. Per Superior Lily, God never abandoned them because they are provided with all their daily needs through the good heart of many donors. They even share excess blessings to the other Homes that are lacking supplies and in need.
