The Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI) takes pride as it formally introduced its new set of Officers, Board of Directors and Committee Chairpersons in its 1st General Membership Meeting on January 24, 2014 held at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Ayala, Makati City.
The ACPACI Officers and Board of Directors for 2014 are Ms. Feliciana B. Santos, President; Mr. Edward L. Roguel, Executive Vice-President and Director for Annual National Convention; Ms. Nanette N. Tabuac, Secretary and Director for Publication and Website; Ms. Cynthia A. Campos, Treasurer and Director for Ways and Means and Ms. Edna L. Constantino, Auditor and Director for Scholarships and Social Involvement and Ms. Consuelo Cadelina, Immediate Past President.
The other elected Board of Directors were Mr. Gerard B. Sanvictores, Director for Special Projects; Mr. Meynard Mendoza, Director for Meetings; Mr. Aphat C. Martinez, Director for Fellowship and Sports and ANC Chairperson; Ms. Janis M. Maghinay, Director for Professional Development; Mr. Bien Constantino, Director for Membership Development and Ms. Gregoria A. Guillermo, Director for Election.
The new officers and directors were inducted by Mr. Jaime J. Bautista, Vice-Chairman of the Board of the University of the East. He also delivered the keynote address that night focusing on ACPACI’s current theme: #movingforward. “Let us all be persons of integrity. It is “good to be good” and keep moving forward. By supporting ACPACI, we are supporting each other,” says Mr. Bautista.
Incoming President, Ms. Ning Santos shared to the members and guests in her inaugural address the ACPACI’s 2014 roadmap, bringing forth more training programs and seminars on accountancy and tax updates as well as advisory services and the latest on information technology in order to make the members thrive in a more competitive world. “ACPACI will also focus on membership development... and will continue to help qualified students (ACPACI scholars) to have access to higher education,” she added.
Ms. Santos also presented the Committee Chairs who pledged their commitments to her and to ACPACI. The appointed Committee Chairs who took their oath were: Ms. Shiela Tamayo, Professional Development; Ms. June Chaye Cabal-Revilla and Ofelia Padiz, Membership Development; Ms. Jezaida Cargullo, Meetings; Ms. Cecilia Carandang, Ways and Means; Ms. Lolita Tang, Scholarships and Social Involvement; Ms. Felicidad Avila, Publication and Website; Ms. Katherine Sobremonte, Fellowship and Sports; Ms. Concuelo Cadelina, PICPA Coordination & Chapters; Ms. Ofelia Oroceo, Election and Ms. Ma. Paz Malubay and Atty. Samuel Villacampa, Special Projects.
Other highlights of this momentous event were the valedictory address of outgoing President, Ms. Connie Cadelina, the presentation of Presidential and Leadership Awards to 2013 ACPACI Officers and Chairpersons, respectively, the presentation of gavel and induction of new ACPACI members. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Janis Maghinay and the intermission number was provided by the University of the East Dance Troup.
