ACPACI Welcomes New Officers
The Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI) welcomed its new set of officers who took their oath during the induction ceremonies and first General Membership Meeting held at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Makati City last January 30, 2015.
The Associations 2015 Officers and Board of Directors were formally initiated into office by Ms. Marivic Espano, Chief Executive Officer of Punongbayan & Araullo, and she also delivered the Keynote Address centered on ACPACI’s theme, “Soaring High.”
The new officers were: Mr. Edward L. Roguel, President; Ms. Janis M. Maghinay, Executive Vice-President and Director for Professional Development; Ms. Nanette N. Tabuac, Secretary and Director for Publication and Website; Ms. Fedna B. Parallag, Treasurer and Director for Meetings; Ms. Lolita P. Tang, Auditor and Director for Scholarship and Social Involvement; Ms. Ofelia O. Padiz, Director for Membership Development; Ms. Katherine Sobremonte, Director for Fellowship & Sports; Ms. Pamela V. Dimayuga, Director for ACPACI Chapters; Ms. Jecylene Briones, Director for Election and Special Projects; Ms. Cynthia A. Molina, Director for PICPA Coordination and Ms. Rowena I. Lemen, Director for Ways and Means.
Mr. Edward Roguel, Partner of Punongbayan & Araullo accepted the duties and responsibilities of the Association’s highest post from outgoing President and automatic ex-officio, Ms. Feliciana B. Santos. Mr. Roguel, during his acceptance speech, said that this year’s focus would be on the ACPACI members, the youth and the community. He communicated to the audience his goals of increasing the number of professional development seminars and improving the seminar offerings to ensure that the members are kept abreast of the developments in accountancy and taxation. He envisioned ACPACI as an effective avenue for its members to share expertise, knowledge, and experience for the betterment of the individual and of the community. His other programs include expanding the Association’s network to reach out to a larger number of Accountants in Commerce and Industry by establishing a Chapter Development Committee this year and to activate the Central Luzon Chapter and open a new Chapter in the Visayas Region, among others.
The Committee Chairpersons installed into office were Mr. Aphat Martinez, Chair, Annual Convention and Fellowship; Ms. Corazon S. Rey, Chair, Annual Convention; Ms. Shiela M. Tamayo, Professional Development; Mr. Tristan L. Lopez, Membership Development; Almelito R. Casas, Sports; Mr. Jayson M. Ayson, Ways and Means; Ofelia P. Oroceo, Election; Ma. Paz V. Malubay, Special Projects; Ms. Cecilia C. Carandang, Meetings; Ms. Edna L. Constantino, Social Involvement and Scholarship; Ms. Cristina M. Gajunia, Publication and Website; Ms. Consuelo O. Cadelina, PICPA Coordination and Chapters and Ms. Hazel P. Miranda, ACPACI Chapters. Other Officers were Ms. Wilhelmina G. Cuico, Executive Director and Mr. Fritz Kein T. Ortiz, Secretariat.
Other highlights of this affair were the valedictory address of Ms. Ning Santos, the presentation of Leadership awards given to ACPACI’s 2014 Officers, Directors and Chairpersons, the presentation of gavel and the Induction of new ACPACI members. The event was hosted by Ms. Katherine Sobremonte.
