1st General Membership Meeting & Induction Ceremonies

This year's turnover ceremonies celebrated the Filipino CPA as it adopts the theme "Crossing Borders". Beyond each Filipino CPAs boundary, ACPACI inspires to cross the border of being traditional and goes toward uncharted courses to strive for excellence. For this event, ACPACI had a Filipiniana attire to remind us that we do have a unique culture that can blend with the rest of the world.
In her opening statement, Liza S. Glodoviza, 2006 ACPACI President, said that while 2009 marred the Financial landscape with uncertainties, ACPACI braved the storm and came out with a very successful year full of activities and positive financial results. For the invocation a moving song "You are the reason" was sung by Cris Desucatan with the background video of the recent Ondoy calamity and how everyone showed courage that there is hope. Doing the opening remarks was Mr. Julian "Boy" Tecson 1994 ACPACI President.
The formal turnover ceremony started with a video presentation capping it with "2009 a Banner year for ACPACI". In her valedictory address, 2009 President Corazon S. Rey, said that the Dream has come true because we all believe it can happen. The exceptional performance of 2009 is exemplified by the theme "Building and Forging Relationships" as it continues to bring the best not only in the events but the relationship it was able to renew and foster among members.
The inducting officer and Guest Speaker, Mr. Lance Y. Gokongwei, President and COO of JG Summit Holdings Inc. stressed the importance that every Filipino CPA should strive excellence in his work, become innovative and entrepreneurial and hold true with his oath of providing factual, timely, accurate and transparent financial reports which is the business owners guide in decision making. This was followed by the formal induction of the national officers.
In the intermission numbers, ACPACI chorale, rendered Filipino Songs - Ang Pipit, Kalesa, while not really world-class, it shows these ACPACI leaders can go beyond their borders of accounting and provide entertainment. The inaugural address of the 2010 President, Atty. Beatriz B. Salvador, she mentioned that her theme compliments the 2009 theme. Doing the honors of inducting the ACPACI Central Luzon Chapter Officers was Mr. Marcial Morales, 1991 ACPACI President. This was followed by the induction of chairpersons for each Committee and the new member recruits for 2010.
The induction ceremonies started and finsihed on time. After the event, ACPACI members stayed to listened to Filipino music played by Leggoire Quartet.
